Leicester Unitarians

Forthcoming Events

We give below a few details of some of the forthcoming events that are sure to be of interest for all Leicester Unitarians, their family and friends and members of the public.

Leicester Unitarians - Forthcoming Events
Friday November 18
7.30pm

Tibetan evening with cheese and wine...
All members and friends are warmly invited to join us in the Garden Room at 7.30pm on Friday 18th November for Cheese and Wine refreshments prior to the showing of a DVD entitled ‘ Summer in the Lotus Ground’.

This hour-long film has been made by Christian Stewart (shown in photo left) and is all about life in the Tibetan monastery where he lives and works for part of every year. It is a colourful and musical celebration in the glorious Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

A donation of £3 per person towards the cost of refreshments
would be greatly appreciated.

Sunday December 18
3.00pm
followed by Christmas Tea in the Garden Room
Come and join us with family and friends.
- all welcome -
Friday December 30
7.30pm

With hilarious outfits, original music and acid wit, this two-bander production follows the further adventures of Cinderella's Ugly Sisters as they travel to Harborough in search of their own prince. The show is a novel take on panto's tried-and-tested formula: it's got hair, cheeky double-entendres, catchy tunes and many fabulous costumes.

This family friendly production is aimed at both adults and children

If you are interested in joining us to see our very own David Kent in the above production on Friday 30th December, please sign-up on the sheet provided in the Garden Room.
Come and join in the fun!

Sunday January 22
Following the morning service

Why not join us for a Burn's lunch as we meet to mark the birthday of Scotland's national poet (25thJanuary 1759) by holding a haggis lunch after the service.

This is an excellent opportunity to celebrate the achievements of a poet whose great souled egalitarianism promoted humanity's dignity and worth, and who advocated a free-thinking approach to life and salvation over the cant and dogma of creeds.

And of course, our regular Great Meeting Coffee Shop

Our 'Coffee Shop' is open on Saturday mornings
from 10.30am-12.30pm

Fairtrade ground coffee, tea and other beverages will be on sale
accompanied by biscuits and cake.

Homemade preserves are on sale
- a real tea time treat
PLUS - our second-hand book stall
Invite your family and friends and bring
along those unwanted paperbacks that
someone else might now enjoy.
Connection is free to all chapel members and coffee shop customers alike.
