On Saturday May 2, Sir Peter procured and drove our mini-bus, taking 17 of us to “the city of dreaming spires”, where we were joined by members of Annie's family.

The Rev Dr Ralph Waller, Principal of Harris Manchester College, met us on arrival and, following refreshments, conducted the party on a tour of the College. This took in the Chapel with its marvellous stained glass windows and recently restored organ, (played for us by the organ scholar Myles Hartley) and the dining hall.

Following lunch we continued our tour into the College Library and then up the Tower which afforded spectacular views across the city. Dr Waller gave a most interesting account of the College and its history which is rich in Unitarianism. His generosity and kindness were greatly appreciated by all.
